A buddy of mine is super hyped about this slate thing and is probably the first one that made a reservation. He's been convincing me to do the same, but I think he's just gullible and the slate won't be anywhere near what he thinks. To cut things short if I were to make a reservation I'd be using it for farm work mostly and maybe some local commutes so would it be worth it or stick to something tried and true?

Guess this question isn't quite about the slate but an ev truck in general

It depends what you plan on using it for. If you don't need something to haul massive and heavy cargo or you're fine with the rwd setup it would be fine. It's not a workhorse, but can be a utilitarian truck for some lighter applications. Range-wise, 205 estimated means you'll be in the sub-200 range, so unless you're extremely remote, it won't be a massive issue as well.

btw, welcome to the forum!

Will you be using it to haul stuff? I'm not quite sure about that but for daily use, I think it's a good deal. Stripped down to basics so we won't have to worry if it gets rugged with use.
