Slate going keyless?

I was dazed and confused by a photo on the maker's site showing the key fob in the dash, so i reached out for clarification. They confirmed the Slate truck will have keyless entry, push2start, and app-based controls like remote climate and door locks. No word yet on whether those app features will require a subscription. Anyone know more?

Cool stuff like keyless entry and push2start come standard. App controls are usually free to start, but keep an eye out, they might ask you to subscribe later on. Still no official word about that, though

Got it, thanks! Thats good to know. I'm definitely interested in the app control, do you happen to know what features it includes right now? Also, any idea if the keyless system is phone-based or fob-based ?

Are we setting ourselves up for subscription fatigue when even basic truck features like remote start and door locks might require ongoing fees? When did owning a vehicle turn into renting its functionality?

@Ragnarok! Honestly yeah, that's the part that bugs me too. It's great tech, but if they start locking everyday features behind a paywall, it's going to kill the appeal fast. Hahaha. People are gonna get tired of it.
