When it comes to selecting a battery pack for your Slate truck, you’re probably looking at the 52.7 kWh and 84.3 kWh options and doing some quick calculations on range, charging time, and cost. It all seems clear-cut on paper, but the reality can be quite different. Let’s discuss the real-world range, how long it takes to charge, battery degradation, and which pack is the most sensible choice for your day-to-day driving.

Been crunching the numbers non-stop but real life always throws a wrench in the works. I think for my daily drives the smaller battery should do the trick, unless winter hits hard and affects the range. I’m really interested in what early users will actually be experiencing

From my previous experience with an EV, I've realized that the rated range is often just a guideline.
I’m leaning towards the bigger battery to cut down on charging stops,
but I’m really curious about how long it actually takes to charge each pack at home.

Math seems straightforward on paper, but things like degradation and charging habits can really change the game. I don’t do much road tripping, so the smaller battery seems like a sensible choice unless long-term capacity loss makes the bigger one a better investment.
