Bring back the front bench seat

I wish car manufacturers would bring back the front bench seat. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. It seems like you can only find bucket seats in the front of a vehicle these days. I think a bench seat would be a great option. It would make so much sense for families and people who just need more room. Does anyone know of any new cars that still have a front bench seat? Slate Auto please please please, we need an option to have this.

Not gonna lie, I always thought a bench would be awesome in a modern EV, especially with the flat floors. But I guess safety regs and seatbelt anchoring make it harder. Has anyone seen an aftermarket setup or is that just asking for trouble?

You don’t see front bench seats in many new vehicles anymore, largely due to safety regulations and how airbags are designed. Still, the Ram 1500 Classic and certain trims of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra work trucks keep that option alive. Nowadays, most manufacturers prefer bucket seats for their enhanced crash safety and the ability to adjust for individual comfort.
