I cherish the memory of loading up the truck and embarking on a long weekend drive no real agenda, just stopping wherever caught my eye. I discovered some fantastic food places and hidden backroads that were a total surprise.

I went on a spontaneous two-day drive through the mountains and stumbled upon a tiny diner that had the best pie I’d ever tasted. It wasn’t planned, but it’s definitely one of my favorite trips.

One of my all-time favorite trips was a fall drive where I followed the changing leaves through three states. I kept pulling off to explore old farm roads and scenic viewpoints. Each stop was a delightful surprise, and I still cherish the photos from that weekend.

A few summers ago, I drove along a coastal highway without much of a plan. I just stopped at beaches and small towns along the way. I discovered this little taco shack that still pops into my mind. Those unplanned adventures are something special.
