is Slate lowballing their reservation numbers?

Am I the only one who thinks that Slate’s numbers don't add up? They hit 100k in the first two weeks, but only added another 50k over the next seven months? That seems way too low
I’m wondering if they’re keeping a low profile on purpose to avoid getting bullied by the big guys like Ford. If they admitted to having 500k+ reservations, every major automaker would be gunning for them.
Plus, with a $50 deposit (cheaper than the Cybertruck, Canoo, or Telo), you'd think the volume would be exploding. Are they just playing it cool to stay under the radar?
What do you think, guys?

well, It definitely feels like a huge drop off, but those first 100k were likely the viral crowd
adding 50k more during a year where the EV market supposedly collapsed is actually a pretty strong signal
lost startups lose more people to cancellations than they gain in new sign ups at this stage
150k is still a massive number for a company that hasn't even finished retooling its plant yet!
