Slate is now gonna be Double Din ready

I was watching an interview the other day with the Slate CEO on YT and something was mentioned that caught my attention. So, apparently, I'm guessing they maybe heard some feedback from users asking for an AM/FM radio, and the dashes of the newer Slates are gonna be intentionally designed to accommodate a standard double DIN stereo head unit.

Honestly, that's a nice touch cos personally, in a world where most automakers are deleting buttons and hardwiring every feature behind a touchscreen, it's refreshing to see Slate leave room for actual customization and what's better is that the power of choice is left to the customer so you can choose to fit yours or not, pretty cool if you ask me

I completely agree- I'm putting a Sony head unit in my old 2012 Accord, so hopefully Slate will have the look good with something similar like those in there.

I like the customization features of Slates. It seems to be practical and able to be enhanced to the owners liking.

Yep, that's a smart call. Keeping the double DIN support makes it simple and easy to change things out, a great thing if you like having real knobs and buttons or want to add stuff later. Good on Slate for focusing on being flexible instead of locking you in
