Slate Truck's DIY Dream

My coworker read Motortrend and it says about the Slate Truck's awesome "open-source ecosystem."

Yeah, this means owners can pretty much customize anything that doesn't hurt the truck or people, even some warranty repairs!
Slate wants to foster a community for creative folks to design and build their own accessories, like a big 3D printing and crafts marketplace.

This is huge for DIYers and tinkerers. it should mean tons of official info from Slate, making it a dream come true for anyone who loves to get their hands dirty!

Look, that open source approach is exactly what the truck world needs, no more locked down systems holding you back. If slate actually delivers on real support and quality info, DIYers will be unstoppable for real, but for me I'm all in for anything that puts control back in the owner's hands.

I agree with them! I think this will give us the opportunity to be more practical in selecting add ons that keep the truck useful and interesting long after purchase.
