If you're getting ready for an EV, like the Slate truck, I’d love to hear how you're thinking about home charging. Are you leaning towards Level 1 or Level 2 charging? Have you looked into quotes for installation or any upgrades to your electrical panel? And if you already own an EV, how much power do you typically use each month? I'm just trying to get a better idea of what to expect.

Planning for Level 2, got a $1,200 quote to get my panel ready. I think I'll use around 300–400 kWh each month once it's all set up.

yeah, not level 1.it's basically useless for a high capacity battery truck unless you drive very little. It only adds about 3 to 5 miles of range per hour. Since the Slate will have a huge battery, Level 1 means you might not even fully recover a day's worth of driving overnight

Hey, think about ways to manage your charging, such as using smart chargers that change current as needed. Also, see if your power company has deals or special rates for charging at certain times to help cut costs.

I already have an EV and a level 2 charger installed. It was pricey, the electrical panel had to be replaced, we were having issues anyways, but it was up there $$$$. So for the Slate it'll be 90% charged at home.

Looks like you’re all set for the Slate. The panel upgrade is a big deal, but it’s going to be worth it in the end. Smart charging and off-peak rates might just help you recoup those initial costs over time.
