You remember what it was like as a kid, you'd be straining to hear the sound of reindeer on the roof, gazing at the twinkling lights on the tree, completely caught up in the magic. But then, one year, things started to add up differently, and it hit you. I can still recall that moment so vividly. When did it dawn on you that Santa and his reindeer weren’t real, and what tipped you off? Share your stories so we can compare how we all came to that holiday revelation.

It hit me when I realized the wrapping paper Santa used matched the kind my mom had stashed in her closet. I kept it to myself, but at that moment, the magic transformed into a new kind of enjoyment.

I put the pieces together after being up way too late one Christmas Eve. I could hear “Santa” moving around, but those footsteps were unmistakably like my dad’s heavy footsteps. After that, everything clicked into place.
