Why no AM/FM radio in Slate Trucks?

Hey! I’m really interested in getting a Slate truck, but there are two dealbreakers for me right now, a sturdy trailer hitch and an AM/FM radio.
I’m honestly surprised AM/FM isn't standard. it's not just for music, it’s vital safety gear. When you're on the road, local stations are the fastest way to get emergency alerts and weather updates that cell phones often miss, especially in dead zones
Plus, an integrated radio is built to handle the truck’s electrical interference, which isn't always guaranteed with an aftermarket fix.

Adding this at the factory would cost next to nothing and literally save lives.
Is there a reason Slate is skipping out on this? Seems like common sense to me!

I totally understand! Having a trailer hitch is one thing, but skipping out on an AM/FM radio for safety reasons seems ridiculous. With emergency alerts, it’s definitely a must-have, not just an option.

Absolutely, a good hitch is a given, but leaving out AM/FM feels like a major safety lapse. Sure, you can add it on later, but having it factory-tested for interference is a smarter, less stressful choice.

@90Green IDK man, I've driven for decades and never had useful information come via AM radio weather. but you can easily add one, Slate Auti will have the option to add one as well.

I completely agree about the radio, it's strange to leave it out of a work truck. While many EVs focus on streaming, AM radio really shines when cell service drops. Let’s hope they consider adding it or provide retrofit options before the launch.

A trailer hitch should really be a given on a work truck. Regarding the radio, it might be a good idea to reach out to Slate for feedback, this is the perfect time for them to hear from customers.
