really no aux switches in slate?

Kinda crazy that the Slate doesn't already have an AUX switch setup or hot 12V bus bar. If Ford can throw one in a Bronco and GM did it decades ago with police/taxi packages, why are we in 2025 still stuck tapping fuses like it's the 90s?

Fleet operators especially are going to want dashcams, comms, and lights without tearing into factory wiring. The fact that we might be forced to use fuse taps on a brand-new truck feels lazy on Slate's part. So what's the actual deal here... do we think Slate will eventually add AUX switches in future trims, or are we just stuck DIY'ing a power distro block under the dash?
 
I hear you! I'm in California and helped set up a Slate for a small delivery team. We had to build our own power block just to run dashcams and radios. Still tapping fuses in 2025 feels old-school. No news yet on AUX switches, but hoping they add them soon. Are you using always-on power or switched? That really changed things for us.
 
It seems they are leaving most add ons to the aftermarket. Your best option is to stay at a DIY job for now. Unless they see a huge demand from customers, I think that might be the time they will start adding a prewired AUX panel in later trims.

try to skip the fuse taps entirely on a brand new vehicle. For a clean, safe setup, you're much better off installing a proper aftermarket power distribution block or bus bar. It's a cleaner installation, it protects the factory wiring, and it gives you a central point to manage all your accessories, which is a huge plus
