Cabin-and-a-half idea for the Slate

So here's a thought: what if the Slate had a "cabin and a half" setup? Like the old-school F-150s and Rangers where you didn't get a full second row, but you had enough space to toss in some bags or even a little bench for an extra passenger. I'm not talking about bolting on the SUV kit, just a little stretch that makes the cab more usable.

Could be the best of both worlds? still a truck, still simple, but with just enough room to make it more practical. Anybody else think this could work, or am I just overthinking it?

It could work if the frame and wheelbase can handle the stretch without messing up weight distribution or crash safety. The old half-cab setups were useful but not ideal for comfort or storage long term. Are you thinking about keeping the same bed length or shortening it to balance out the added cab space?
