As winter looms and the garage gets chilly, you might be eyeing that Slate Auto battery and wondering if it can really hold its own in the deep freeze. Slate trucks are still in pre-production, so it’s a bit of a mystery. Some swear by its resilience, while others have their doubts.

How do you think it’ll cope when the temperatures drop below zero?

I totally get it. Last winter, my old truck's battery really struggled with the cold, so anything that promises better performance grabs my attention. If Slate holds up, that would be quite something.

A couple of winters back, I had a project truck that wouldn’t start if the garage got below zero, so I’ve been keeping a close eye on Slate’s battery claims. If their pre-production tests are solid, this could finally be the cold-weather solution I've been looking for.

I've had my fair share of dead batteries on freezing mornings, so I'm a bit skeptical about new tech. But after watching a prototype demo last year, I’m cautiously optimistic that Slate’s design could actually work in sub-zero temps.
