Google Maps EV integration on Slate?

New here and looking into my build options. I've read a post somewhere else about the new Google Maps EV integration for Android Auto, where it can pull real-time telemetry from the car to give estimated state of charge on arrival, and even suggest charging stops along the route. It's a huge step up from what's been out there, especially for route planning. I know Ford and Google finally got it together after a few years, which is a good sign for the industry.

I'm assuming Slate will have this from the get-go, right? The whole "bring your own tech" philosophy seems to fit this perfectly, but I'm curious how it would be integrated. Would it be a seamless connection, or would it be something that requires a specific app or accessory? I'm trying to figure out what to account for in the factory setup, or if this is something that's more of a personalization add-on later. Any insight from those of you who have been following the news more closely would be great. Thanks!

From what I've seen, it should work pretty seamlessly on Slate as long as your phone is connected via android auto. No extra hardware needed, just make sure your car's software and the android auto app are up to date

Based on what I've read so far from Slate's "bring your own tech" approach, the Google Maps integration will definitely work, but it's not going to be a deep, built-in system like in a Ford or a Polestar. I think Slate is designed to have a minimal interior, so just a basic display and not a huge screen. This means Android Auto and Google Maps will run entirely on your phone, then be projected to the car. The trick is whether Slate's systems will share the necessary telemetry data, like real-time battery state and power draw, with your phone via a simple Bluetooth or USB connection.. Slate has said they won't sell data to third parties and that they'll have an app for vehicle health, so it seems like the pipes for data sharing will be there. It'll likely be a seamless connection, but the features will be dependent on what data the Slate app can feed to the Android Auto app on your phone.
